EMILY SANDERS
Mad Teapot
Fairytales. They are whimsical and involve all the happiness and fun of childhood. Alice in Wonderland is a fairytale that takes these ideas to the next level. Throughout the story Alice enjoys many fun andventures, and meets some pretty interesting friends all while finding herself. I can definitely relate to this type of tale in my own life. While I don't have conversations with caterpillars everyday, the main idea of the story can resentate deeply with my own experiences. I love fairytales as well. They work hand-in-hand with my artwork beacuse of the happiness they evoke in people. I decided to put this piece in teapot form not only because there is a tea party in Alice in Wonderland but also because teapots remind me of fun and loving times around a table with my friends and family. Truly tying together the entire theme of happiness, humor, and whimsy.
